Today my 3 year old daughter insisted that I lay right beside her for her nap time. Having so much work to do, yet not wanting to say no to my little girl. I decided to lay beside her, as she fell asleep, I decided to have a quiet time with God. NO talking, but think how far God has brought me.
God reminded me of the different stages in Life, how He used different people at each level to help walk me through the phase of my life at the moment. Whether spiritually, financially or encouragement.
As I thought of all these people, I realized how I've lost contact with most of them. God has been so good to me, I have a wonderful husband and 3 lovely kids. I felt the need to look up all these people and share with them how God used them at certain paths in my life.
Yes, I did go through so much as a teenager, shortly after accepting Christ. I accepted Christ at 14, my mom died at 17, being the oldest at the moment, I had to take care of my 6 siblings. The very youngest being 3 months old and second to youngest being 3 years old. My dad worked way far from home that we got to see him one weekend every 2-3 months. That was the very beginning of the good journey that GOD was letting me go through.
At the beginning of College, my dad was forced to retire with no hope of finding work. We struggled through days of no dinners at all. It sounds crazy to go without a meal, but in Africa it so happens. Long story short, I decided to take a break from God as I wondered why all that was going on.
GUESS WHAT? JOHN 10:28 says " I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." God never did take a break from me and a matter of fact, he did more things to get my attention back, by which I am so glad he did. One day as I was wandering on the streets in the city looking for a job so I can pay my way to colIege, I stopped by a Church due to the music that reminded me of God's love. I felt at the moment, that was where I BELONGED and I Was like a lost son back home. From that moment, God gave me this strength I had never had before. His peace, that everything was going to be alright. ISAIAH 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. "
I got a new Excitement for the Lord like never before. I learned to pray and fast and seek the Lord. I depended on Him as I knew that He was right beside me. I stayed in a student housing during the college years and still had to know that GOD had brought me that far and He will see it through that I get to my destination.
Philippians 1:6 was also a great comfort always "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

I got used to no dinners but plain tea after my days of fasting. By the end of that period in my life, I was so thankful to God for it. I developed a very intimate relationship with my Lord. In all the longer story, I left so much out, but GOD took care of me in ways I WOULDN'T have recognized unless I had to look back and remember all the people God used to take care of me. They were a great start of my journey and how they will always be a part of my life. To call them and be able to say "Thank You" and share with the ones who don't know Christ, of what God continues to do in my life. God did take care of Elijah and used a widow and also ravens
God took care of Abraham in a new land that he didn't know of anyone.
He also took care of John the Baptist as he ate the locusts they didn't seem to harm him in anyway.
God reminded me of King David, how he remembered his friend Jonathan's son, way after his friend had died, but he still remembered to honor his friend by helping his son as he had promised before he even knew he would be a king. in 1 Samuel 23:16, 2 Samuel 21:7
This is what I've decided to do;
- Recalling all the journey in my past
- Writing down the names of people God used to create my testimony. My purpose is to contact all the people on my list. One at a time. Thank them and remind them of the particular time in my life when they came through for me.
Also 1 Samuel 30:21-31
